A southern must

All my life, one meal has made me salivate: Chicken fried steak with gravy is that meal. While watching Paula Deene last week prepare the meal, I tried to remember the last time I had made it. Dave couldn't remember so I decided I needed to remind him why he married me!

As I know my Daddy loves that meal also- oh and let's face it, so does my Momma- I invited them up to partake with us. The whole meal was steak, rice, gravy, green beans, and beer muffins.

I am going to share how I make my steak. I season the steak with garlic salt, pepper, and hot sauce. I allow this to sit for at least 30 minutes. I use the the dry, wet, dry method with an egg/milk mixture and seasoned flour. I season the flour with a tablespoon of pepper and a tablespoon of garlic powder. Dredge the steak pieces in flour, dunk in egg mixture, and then back into flour. I promise you will have a wonderful batter for your steak!!

Someday I might actually try to share how to make gravy!! I am just happy it comes out well most times!

The meal was awesome and was just what the doctor ordered!!
